We believe that a childʼs early experiences of PE are vitally important and that starts in early years and continues into key stage 1. This course explores how to teach a creative curriculum to EYFS and KS1 children and looks at the progression from reception to year 2.This course is mostly practical and will also explore the use of dance and gymnastics at this stage.
As we get into the summer term, this course will prepare staff for the summer term activities. This course will be mostly practical and focus on covering the key content from key stage 2 primary curriculum tennis, cricket and athletics.
Moving Matters PE Inset.
We offer schools on-site training through PE INSET. The majority of these are run as twilight sessions at the end of the school day, but we are also available for full day INSETS.
All sessions are tailored to the needs of the school and teaching staff. In addition, they are led by the Director of Moving Matters or the Senior Primary PE Specialist. Our most successful INSETS combine theory with practical exploration of tasks, so your staff will leave educated and inspired!
Here are some examples of content we have covered before:
- What is Outstanding PE?
- How to Differentiate in PE
- How to Teach Gymnastics
- How to Teach Dance
All the packages we offer include a 2 hour PE INSET.
The many different areas where differentiation could be applied to a lesson was incredibly useful. Rob is clearly a very highly skilled practitioner and communicated teaching points and key considerations very well indeed. The staff all came away with clear ideas on how to improve their practise which has, in turn, encouraged sharing of ideas in PE amongst the school. There was a noticeable buzz among staff about PE after the session!
